Interesting Roulette Terminology

Like many other games and sports, roulette has a terminology all of its own. There are many websites out there that can help you with terminology, so here are some of the more interesting and unusual terms.

Biased Wheel: a wheel in which there isn’t an even chance of every number winning. This can lead to big wins as players grasp which numbers are most likely to win.

Racetrack bets: the racetrack is the area in front of the croupier, used for making bets on groups of numbers. These are also known as ‘call bets’.

Queen Theatre: in electronic or ‘touchbet’ roulette the players are arranged in two circles. The centre circle has 8 players while the surrounding second circle, the theatre, has 16 players.

Street bet: this is a bet on three numbers, which has a payoff of 11:1. This is also known as a ‘trio bet’.
