ICC Champions Trophy 2013 – Cardiff Event
Cardiff has been named by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as one of the venues for the 2014 ICC Champions Trophy tournament, which is to be held in England and Wales.Glamorgan’s SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff will host group matches, and then one of the event’s semi-finals.
The three week 50 over tournament will involve the top eight ranked one day international teams, and the other venues hosting matches are Edgbaston in Birmingham, and The Oval in London.
The ICC Champions Trophy is the most important one day tournament after the World Cup, and next year’s event is being described as “the best of the best”, as the World Cup includes some of the lesser lights of the world game.
Cardiff are hosting games both on the 6th June with India v South Africa and the 9th June Sri Lanka v New Zealand. After the games why not visit Les Croupiers Casino, we offer a free shuttle from various locations in the city centre and also free hotel transfers to and from the casino.
